Michael Viani graduated from Fairmont Senior High School, in which he was a 2x state champ in wrestling and 4-year starter at shortstop in baseball in the leadoff spot with a career batting average of .430.  He also played 3 years of varsity football for the Polar Bears.

Attended WVU for one year on wrestling scholarship but eventually transferred to Fairmont State University in which he played baseball for 3 years.  He graduated from FSU with double major in Exercise Science and Health Science.

Started working for DJS in April 2006 at the Industrial Home for Youth (IHY) as Correctional Officer.  During his year as an officer he was a school officer and REAP officer.  He was promoted to Correctional Counselor 1/Recreation.

In November 2009, he was promoted to CC1 at Marion County YRC.

In February 2011, he transferred back to IHY as CC1 general pop. blue unit.  He also worked as CC1 Diagnostic Unit and CC1 Wellness Center.

In October 2011, he was promoted to Case Manager of Wellness Center.

In May 2012 he transferred back to Marion County YRC as Case Manager until May 2016 when he was named interim Director of Marion County YRC and was named Director of Marion County YRC in October 2016.

Mike has three boys Dominic, Sammy and Luca.  Mike has coached Little League baseball and youth football since 2008 and is currently on the Fairmont Little League Board of Directors.  Also, he is currently on the Teen Court Board of Directors.
