Youth development and leadership is a process that prepares young people to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood through a coordinated, progressive series of activities and experiences to help them become socially, morally, emotionally, physically and cognitively competent. Youth are taught skills related to leadership development, decision-making, citizenship and community service while practicing social and coping skills eventually having the ability to become independent. They learn to analyze and develop their own strengths and goals while identifying challenges and ways to overcome these barriers in themselves and in the outside world. Group topics are but are not limited to; Substance Abuse Education, Anger Management, Victim Awareness, Substance Abuse Therapy, Life Skills, Parenting, Peer Relations, Recreational Therapy and Smoking Cessation.
